Giardetti RESOLVED that the Council of the Municipality of Shuniah nominates Mayor Wendy Landry to the position of President for the Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association (NOMA) for the election taking place at the Annual NOMA conference scheduled for April 26-28, 2017 in Thunder Bay; and FURTHER that Council's letter of support of this nomination together with Mayor Landry's written consent be forwarded to NOMA's Executive Director.

Giardetti WHEREAS the 2016-2020 Strategic Plan detailed Community Development to be an integral component to enhance the quality of life and increase community engagement of all residents in Shuniah; and WHEREAS the 2016-2020 Strategic Plan detailed Economic Development to be an integral component to create opportunities and support local businesses as they enhance our community; THEREFOR BE IT RESOLVED that the Municipality hereby provides pre-budget approval for the position of Community Economic Development Coordinator with associated costs as presented in the 2017 Draft Budget on February 23, 2017
