Regular Council

THAT this Regular Meeting of Council is hereby called to order at 4 p.m.

THAT the agenda be accepted as presented.

THAT the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council held March 14, 2017 be adopted as circulated and that same be filed in the Clerk's Office.

THAT the Minutes of the Thunder Bay District Health Unit be received and that the same be filed in the Clerk's Office.

THAT Council hereby receives a copy of the Building Permit Summaries for 2016 and Year-to- date for 2017 and a copy of same be filed in the Clerk's Office.

THAT the Clerk is hereby directed to bring forward a by-law to authorize a Maintenance Agreement with ORNGE for the Helipad located in Shuniah.

WHEREAS the OHSA requires employers to prepare and review, at least once a year, a written occupational health and safety policy, and to develop and maintain a program to implement that policy; AND WHEREAS the policy must be posted in the workplace; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Municipality of Shuniah approves and posts a Health and Safety Policy Statement.

THAT Council hereby approves its Shuniah Police Service Board members to attend the Ontario Association of Police Service Boards 2017 Conference being held in Blue Mountain on June 21-23rd and their expenses be paid according to policy.

THAT Council hereby authorizes the Treasurer to attend the workshops for the Employment Law and Human Resources Certificate Program for Page 3 of 6 Regular Council March 28, 2017 Municipalities in Thunder Bay and that their expenses be paid according to policy.

THAT Council hereby authorizes the Treasurer to attend the Public Sector Digest 2017 Eastern Canada User Group forum in London Ontario from June 21st to 23rd and their expenses be reimbursed according to policy.

THAT Council hereby authorizes the signing officers of the Municipality to approve the Treasurer to be added as a credit card holder with a limit of $5,000 and that the CAO's limit be increased from $5,000 to $10,000.

THAT Council directs the Clerk to bring forward a by-law to adopt a Budget with estimates of all sums required during 2017 for the purposes of the municipality and set the rates of taxation and tax ratios and to impose a tax levy for municipal purposes for that year.

THAT Council hereby authorizes the CAO to attend the Municipal Leadership Forum in Toronto and that their expenses be paid according to policy.

That a by-law to authorize a maintenance agreement for a 3 year term with ORNGE is deemed to have been read a First and Second Time this 28th day of March 2017

That a by-law to authorize a maintenance agreement for a 3 year term with ORNGE is deemed to have been read a Third and Final time this 28th day of March 2017 and numbered 2939-17; AND THAT the said By-law be engrossed in the By-law Book.

THAT a By-law to confirm the proceedings of Council be read a First, Second and Third time on this 28th day of March 2017 and Numbered 2940-17; AND THAT the said By-law be engrossed in the By-law Book.

THAT the hour of 5:30 p.m. having arrived this regular Meeting of Council hereby adjourns.
