Regular Council

THAT this Regular Meeting of Council is hereby called to order at 4:00 pm

THAT the agenda be accepted as presented.

THAT the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council held September 11, 2018 be adopted as circulated and that same be filed in the Clerk's Office.

THAT Council hereby receives a copy of the Tender Opening Minutes from May to September 2018 and that a copy of same be filed in the Clerk's Office.

Blunt That the following persons are hereby appointed to the Emergency Management Program Review Committee 1. Fire Chief as CEMC/ Chair -Blair Arthur 2. One elected member of Council - Councillor Don Smith and Duff Stewart 3. One senior Municipal Staff members- Treasurer 4. One staff member who is responsible for emergency management functions- CAO 4. One Ontario Provincial Police representative 5. One Superior North EMS representative And further that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Thunder Bay District Ontario Provincial Police and Superior North EMS for their input and appointment of candidates.

Stewart THAT Council hereby appoints the following persons to the Shuniah Fire Department Mr. Terry Zaiser & Ms. Melissa Geils.

Smith That Council receives the report from Shuniah Fire & Emergency Services regarding Tanker #55, outlining the mechanical assessment conducted for comment and direction for replacement.

Stewart THAT Council hereby awards the Tender for Fire Hall # 1 Septic Tank Rehabilitation to the sole bidder, RnH Contracting in the amount of $33,900.00 excluding HST.

Donna Blunt THAT Council hereby receives a copy of the Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Prevention Plan and approves the plan as presented.

Blunt THAT Council hereby receives the report from Jason Evans regarding the Trillium Foundation Grant for trail development at the MacGregor Recreation Centre and same be filed in the Clerk's Office.

A By-law to authorize the funding agreement with Ministry of Tourism Culture and Sport to develop a tourism strategy be read a First and Second Time this 25th day of September 2018

BE IT RESOLVED THAT A By-law to authorize the funding agreement with Ministry of Tourism Culture and Sport to develop a tourism strategy be read a Third Time this 25th day of September 2018 and numbered 3036-18 AND THAT the said by-law be engrossed in the by-law book.

THAT Council hereby receives a copy of the Notice from Ministry of Transportation of the Commencement of a Vehicle Inspection Centre on Highway 11/17

THAT Council hereby receives a copy of the list of Unfinished Business dated September 20 2018, and that same be filed in the Clerk’s Office.

THAT at the hour of 6:42 PM Council hereby resumes the open meeting.

THAT a By-law to confirm the proceedings of Council be read a First, Second and Third time on this 25th day of September 2018 and Numbered 3037-18, AND THAT the said By-law be engrossed in the By-law Book.

THAT the hour of 6:45 p.m. having arrived this regular Meeting of Council hereby adjourns.
