Regular Council

THAT this Regular Meeting of Council is hereby called to order at 4:04 pm.

THAT the agenda be accepted as presented.

THAT the Minutes of the Special Budget Meeting of Council held February 8th, 2022 be adopted as circulated and that same be filed in the Clerk's Office.

THAT Council hereby receives the Firefighter Certification Report to initiate discussion with council and determine what key comments will be submitted to the Ontario Regulatory Registry from the municipality.

THAT Council hereby receives the Monthly Fire Department Report and appoints Brett Bowman as members to Shuniah Fire & Emergency Services and same be filed in the Clerk's Office

THAT Council hereby receives the recommendation of Integrity Commissioners and Closed Meeting Investigators AND FURTHER THAT the Clerk is hereby directed to pass a by-law to appoint Darrell Matson, Ron Bourett and Rosalie Evans as the Municipal Integrity Commissioners and Closed Meeting Investigators for the Municipality of Shuniah

THAT A By-law to appoint a Secretary-Treasurer to the Committee of Adjustment be read a First and Second Time this 22nd day of February 2022

BE IT RESOLVED THAT A By-law to appoint a Secretary-Treasurer to the Committee of Adjustment be read a Third time and numbered 3220-22. AND THAT the By-law be engrossed in the By-law Book.

THAT A by-law to the tax ratios be read a First and Second time this 22nd of February 2022

BE IT RESOLVED THAT A by-law to set the tax ratios for 2022 be read a Third and Final time and numbered 3221-22. AND FURTHER THAT the by-law be engrossed in the By-law Book.

THAT A by-law to set the tax rates of taxation and adopt the 2022 budget be read a First and Second time this 22nd of February 2022

BE IT RESOLVED THAT A by-law to set the rates of taxation and adopt the 2022 budget be read a Third and Final time and numbered 3222-22. AND FURTHER THAT the by-law be engrossed in the By-law Book.

THAT A by-law to appoint Darrell Matson as the Municipal Integrity Commissioner is deemed to have been read a First and Second time this 22nd day of February, 2022

BE IT RESOLVED THAT a by-law to appoint Darrell Matson as the Municipal Integrity Commissioner is deemed to have been read a third and final time and numbered 3223-22. AND FURTHER THAT this by-law be engrossed in the by-law book.

THAT Council hereby supports the resolution from the Town of Bracebridge regarding the Joint and Severable Reform; and BE IT RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Attorney General, the Honourable Doug Downey, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, the Honourable Steve Clark, AMO President, Jamie McGarvey, AMCTO President, Sandra MacDonald and all Ontario Municipalities.

THAT Council hereby receives a copy of the list of Unfinished Business dated February 17, 2022, and that same be filed in the Clerk’s Office.

THAT a By-law to confirm the proceedings of Council be read a First, Second and Third time on this 22nd day of February 2022 and Numbered 3224-22. AND THAT the said By-law be engrossed in the By-law Book.

THAT the hour of 4:30 p.m. having arrived this regular Meeting of Council hereby adjourns.
