Regular Council

THAT this Regular Meeting of Council is hereby called to order at 4:00 p.m.

THAT the agenda be accepted as presented.

THAT the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council held February 14, 2023 be adopted as circulated and that same be filed in the Clerk's Office.

THAT the Minutes of the Closed Meeting of Council held February 14, 2023 be adopted as circulated and that same be filed in the Clerk's Office.

THAT Council receives the administration report and directs administration to bring forward a by-law to appoint the Chief Building Official, Building Inspector and Plumbing Inspector and to repeal and replace by-law number 2807-15 and 2950-17; AND the same be filed in the Clerk's Office.

THAT Council hereby receives the 2024 Ontario Winter Games Organizing Committee Invitation from the City of Thunder Bay; AND THAT Council identifies the following person: Bob Edwards as our representative for the 2024 Ontario Winter Games Organizing Committee; AND the same be filed in the Clerk's Office.

Blunt, seconded by Councillor Don Smith Council receives the Pay Equity Maintenance Report for CUPE bargaining unit provided by consultant Gail Lawrence of Equity and More.

THAT Council receives the MacGregor Recreation Calendar for the period March & April 2023.

THAT Council hereby receives and approves the COVID-19 Vaccination Policy recommended by administration and the same be filed in the Clerk's Office.

THAT Council hereby receives a copy of the report regarding Council Orientation: Rules Relating to "Accountability and Transparency"; AND THAT Council hereby authorizes Wendy Landry, Donna Blunt, Meghan Chomut, Ron Giardetti, Don Smith and 3 staff to attend; AND THAT their expenses be paid according to policy and the same be filed in the Clerk’s Office.

THAT Council hereby receives the Unaudited 2022 Balance Sheet and Statement of Revenue and Expenses and the 4th Quarter Budget to Actual Memo and the same be filed in the Clerk's Office.

THAT a by-law to appoint a Chief Building Official, Building Inspector and Plumbing Inspector and to repeal by-law number 2807-15 and by-law number 2950-17 is deemed to have been read a First and Second time this 28th day of February 2023;

THAT a by-law to appoint a Chief Building Official, Building Inspector and Plumbing Inspector and to repeal by-law number 2807-15 and by-law number 2950-17 is deemed to have been read a Third and Final time and numbered 3285-23; AND THAT the said by-law be engrossed in the by-law book.

THAT Council hereby receives a copy of the list of Unfinished Business dated February 22, 2023, and that same be filed in the Clerk’s Office.

THAT Council supports the nomination of Mayor Wendy Landry for the position of President for Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association (NOMA) for the election taking place at the Annual NOMA conference scheduled for April 26th to 28th, 2023 in Thunder Bay; and FURTHER THAT Council's letter of support of this nomination together with Mayor Landry's written consent be forwarded to NOMA's Executive Director.

THAT a By-law to confirm the proceedings of Council be read a First, Second and Third time on this 28th day of February 2023 and Numbered 3286-23 AND THAT the said By-law be engrossed in the By-law Book.

THAT the hour of 4:30 p.m. having arrived this regular Meeting of Council hereby adjourns.
