Regular Council

THAT this Regular Meeting of Council is hereby called to order at 4:06 p.m.

THAT the agenda be accepted as presented.

THAT the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council held April 25, 2023 be adopted as circulated and that same be filed in the Clerk's Office.

THAT the Minutes of the Closed Meeting of Council held April 25, 2023 be adopted as circulated and that same be filed in the Clerk's Office.

THAT Council hereby receives a copy of the Tender Committee Minutes from April 27, 2023 for the Lakeshore Drive West & Spruce River Road Reconstruction and the same be filed in the Clerk's Office.

THAT Council hereby receives a copy of the Tender Committee Minutes from May 1, 2023 for the RFP for Community Safety and Well-being Plan and the same be filed in the Clerk's Office.

THAT Council hereby receives a copy of the April Building Permit Summary and the same be filed in the Clerk's Office.

THAT Council hereby receives a report from the Manager of Operations and a contract for the Lakeshore Drive West and Spruce River Road Reconstruction be awarded to TBT Engineering in the amount of $114,995.00 excluding HST and the same be filed in the Clerk's Office.

THAT Council approves by resolution to remove OPP Sargent Gary Wojciechowski from the Emergency Management Program Review Committee and appoints OPP Constable Marc Nielsen.

THAT Council receives this report and directs the Fire Chief to proceed with the procurement of the auto extrication equipment; AND THAT same be filed in the Clerk's Office.

THAT Council acknowledges that Wendy Landry has been acclaimed as the NOMA President for the 2 year term from 2023 to 2025; AND THAT her expenses be paid in accordance to policy.

THAT Council approves Meghan Chomut to attend the Women in Politics Lunch on May 23, 2023; also Wendy Landry and Olivia Kembell AND THAT their expenses be paid in accordance to policy.

THAT Council receives the memo regarding the NOMA Conference and the same be filed in the Clerk's Office.

THAT Council hereby receives the following correspondence: a. LRCA - Regular Board Meeting Minutes - March 29, 2023 b. LRCA - Drinking Water Source Protection Minutes - May 25, 2022 c. FONOM - Resolution re: Bail Reform d. City of Stratford - Resolution re: Long Term Care Funding to Support Community Care Services e. TBDSSAB Regular Board Meeting Minutes - March 16, 2032 and the same be filed in the Clerk's Office.

THAT Council support the resolutions from the City of Sault Ste Marie regarding Bill 5, Stopping Harassment and Abuse by Local Leaders Act; AND THAT Council directs administration for forward this resolution to the Hon. Doug Ford, Premier of Ontario, Lise Vaugeois, MPP, Kevin Holland, MPP, and the Association of Municipalities of Ontario and all municipalities in Ontario.

THAT Council hereby receives a copy of the list of Unfinished Business dated May 5, 2023, and that same be filed in the Clerk’s Office.

THAT at the hour of 5:22 p.m. Council moves into In-Camera Session.

THAT at the hour of 6:25 Council hereby resumes the meeting in open session.

THAT a By-law to confirm the proceedings of Council be read a First, Second and Third time on this 9th day of May 2023 and Numbered 3297-23 AND THAT the said By-law be engrossed in the By-law Book.

THAT the hour of 6:25 p.m. having arrived this regular Meeting of Council hereby adjourns.
