Regular Council

THAT this Regular Meeting of Council is hereby called to order at 4:03 p.m.

THAT the agenda be accepted as presented.

THAT the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council held October 22, 2024 be adopted as circulated and that same be filed in the Clerk's Office.

THAT Council hereby receives a copy of the October Building Permit Summary and the same be filed in the Clerk's Office.

THAT Council hereby receives the Fire Master Plan Action Plan and provides feedback for staff.

THAT Council authorizes the following persons to attend conferences as listed below and the expenses be paid according to the Remuneration Policy 3291-23 Rural Ontario Municipal Association (ROMA) Annual General Meeting and Conference being held January 19 to January 21, 2025, in Toronto, at the Sheraton Centre Hotel. 1. Wendy Landry 2. Don Smith 3. Meghan Chomut Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) Annual Conference being held August 17 to August 20, 2025, in Ottawa, at an undetermined venue. 1. THAT Council hereby receive NOMA By-law No. 1 for discussion; AND That the same be filed in the Clerk's Office.

THAT Council receives the 2025 ROMA Delegation Request for discussion; AND THAT Council directs staff to request the following delegations: Infrastructure OPP Heath Unit Fire Master

THAT A By-law to authorize the sale of the shoreline road allowance to the owners of 2159 Amethyst Avenue, being Plan 812 Lot 17 be read a First and Second time this 12th day of November 2024;

THAT A By-law to authorize the sale of the shoreline road allowance to the owners of 2159 Amethyst Avenue, being Plan 812 Lot 17 be read a Third and Final time and numbered 3391-24; AND THAT the said By-law be engrossed in the By-law Book.

THAT Council hereby receives the Municipality of Tweed - Resolution re: OPP Notice of Motion; AND THAT the same be filed in the Clerk's Office.

THAT Council hereby receives and supports the NOMA letter to Hon. Sylvia Jones regarding the Critial Shortage of Paramedics; AND THAT Council direct the Clerk to forward a copy of this resolution to the Premier of Ontario, Doug Ford, Minister of Long-Term Care, Natalia Kusendova-Bashta, Minister of Health, Blair Hains, Deputy Minister of Health, Deborah Richardson, Assistant Deputy Minister of Health, Emergency Health Services Division, Susan Picarello, District of Rainy River Services Board Chair, Mayor Deb Ewald, Greg Rickford MPP Kevin Holland MPP, Lise Vaugeois MPP, Patty Hajdu MP, Marcus Powlowski, MP, and Eric Melillo MP.

THAT Council hereby receives a copy of the list of Unfinished Business dated November 8, 2024, and that same be filed in the Clerk’s Office.

THAT at the hour of 5:20 p.m. Council moves into In-Camera Session.

THAT at the hour of 5:30 p.m. Council hereby resumes the meeting in open session.

THAT Council hereby appoints John Mann to fill the citizen position on the Shuniah Committee of Adjustment.

THAT a By-law to confirm the proceedings of Council be read a First, Second and Third time on this 12th day of November 2024 and Numbered 3392-24 AND THAT the said By-law be engrossed in the By-law Book.
