Regular Council

THAT this Regular Meeting of Council is hereby called to order at 4:00 p.m.

THAT the agenda be accepted as presented.

THAT the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council held July 8, 2025 be adopted as circulated and that same be filed in the Clerk's Office.

THAT the Minutes of the Special Meeting of Council held July 17, 2025 be adopted as circulated and that same be filed in the Clerk's Office.

THAT the Minutes of the Closed Meeting of Council held July 17, 2025 be adopted as circulated and that same be filed in the Clerk's Office.

THAT Council hereby receives the Tender Opening Committee Minutes for the meetings held July 31, 2025 and August 5, 2025 and the same be filed in the Clerk's Office

THAT Council hereby receives the report from the Clerk regarding the Shoreline Road Allowance Purchase; AND THAT the Clerk is hereby directed to bring forward a By-law to authorize the sale of the Shoreline Road Allowance laying in front of Plan 694, Lot 15 known as 2659 Birch Beach Road.

THAT Council hereby receives a copy of the July Building Permit Summary and the same be filed in the Clerk's Office.

THAT Council hereby receives the memo from the Manager of Operations regarding the 2025 Detailed Visual Bridge Inspections and Granular M Supply and Delivery; AND That the Manager of Operations recommends the tender for the 2025 Detailed Visual Bridge Inspections be awarded to R&R Engineering in the amount of $3,500.00 excluding HST; AND That the Manager of Operations recommends the tender for the Granular M Supply and Delivery be awarded to Bruno's Contracting in the amount of $103,950.00 excluding HST; AND That the same be filed in the Clerk's Office.

THAT Council hereby receives the memo from the Manager of Operations regarding the MacGregor Recreation Metal Roof Replacement AND THAT the Manager of Operations recommends the tender be awarded to MJM Contracting in the amount of $43,844.00 excluding HST and the same be filed in the Clerk's Office.

THAT Council receives the Electronic Monitoring Policy and adopts the said policy; AND THAT the same be filed in the Clerk’s Office;

THAT Council receives the Technology Usage Policy and adopts the said policy; AND THAT the same be filed in the Clerk’s Office;

THAT Mayor and Council receive notice that the initial surveying period for interest in the FoodCycler pilot program shall be closing at the end of August, 2025 if at least one hundred responses are collected.

THAT Council hereby receives the report from the Clerk regarding Indigenous Awareness Training in the Workplace and directs the Clerk to arrange for Wake the Giant to provide Indigenous awareness training in the workplace for Council, Management and Staff of the Municipality of Shuniah; AND THAT all expenses are to be paid according to the Remuneration Policy 3291-23 and a donation of $50 per person be provided to Wake the Giant for the training; AND FURTHER THAT the same be filed in the Clerk's Office.

THAT Council receives the Pickleball in the Pavilion memo from the Community Services and Events Coordinator for information purposes.

THAT Council hereby receives the 2nd quarter financial statements and memo and the same be filed in the Clerk's Office.

THAT Council hereby receives the following correspondence: a. Mississauga - Resolution re: Exotic (Wild) Animals b. St Catharines - Resolution re: Elect Respect c. Nairn and Hyman - Letter re: Niobium Tailings at ALTMA d. Aurora - Resolution re Opposition to Bill 17.pdf e. Aurora - Resolution re Oppose Bill 5 f. Otonabee-South Monaghan - Resolution re Bill C-2 - Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Act g. Trent Hills - Letter re Opposition to Strong Mayor h. Aylmer - Resolution re Increase Income Support for Veterans i. Town of Cobourg - Resolution re Bill 5 and Local Food System j. TBDSSAB - Regular Board Minutes - May 15, 2025 and the same be filed in the Clerk's Office.

THAT a By-law to confirm the proceedings of Council be read a First, Second and Third time on this 12th day of August 2025 and Numbered 3433-25 AND THAT the said By-law be engrossed in the By-law Book.

THAT the hour of 5:41 p.m. having arrived this regular Meeting of Council hereby adjourns.
